San Diego Birth Photographer - My Family {Part One}

So as a photographer I supposed to have amazing photos of my children.  Honestly I have to pretty much threaten abuse to get them to do anything.  Today I had a cooperative husband and gift cards to Yogurt Land on my side.  They were not to shabby for me.

Part Two tomorrow... unless my birth client has her sweet baby.

San Diego Birth Photographer- The Complete Birth Experience

Click my Logo and it takes you to the video!

This was my very first birth that I was able to photograph and it was such an amazing experience.  It was everything I hoped for and everything I was afraid of.  It was so dark and I was not able to leave my spot as extra doctors were ordered in. I was not expecting to be so limited. It was everything in the sense that the family, the extended family and the nurse were wonderful.  I also felt an overwhelming urge to put the camera down and talk her through labor.

Thank you Brooke and Stan for letting me join you on your journey!

San Diego Birth Photographer - Free Summer Lunch Program

This is our first summer in San Diego and this summer we are not traveling.  We figure we are already in one of the top tourist destinations, plus we will explore our new city.   On the last day of school I got a flyer (which I normally ignore) from the school lunch program.  Apparently in San Diego they do free school lunch at select locations and free BBQ's.  So I typed in a few of the address for the BBQ and noticed they are scattered around San Diego.

Here are the details.  Kids 18 and younger are free (all kids), parents are $2.00.  At the BBQ's they have hamburgers, hotdogs, beans, and watermelon.  They have booths setup for activities, crafts, and vendors.  Two of the BBQ's had free books and all of them give free fruit.  We have gotten apples, oranges and plums.

Here is an example day of how we are spending our San Diego Staycation.

The other day we went to the Adams Location.  I went on Google maps and noticed the closet park was Old Trolley Park.  So our plan for the day was to venture to a new area and do some exploring.

If you have a GPS you could even just search the closest parks to you.  We just started park jumping.  That is another post for another day.

A few photos of the day.

The last photo was not even all of the loot the kids got.  That was just what I could find.  I love this program, it is really fantastic.  We have met a ton of new people and it is a great way to spend the day with your children.

Here are some links for you.

San Diego Birth Photography- Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe

A few days before Father's Day, my husband comes in and says you have to hear about this.... At the San Diego County Fair they are serving Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joes.  So he pulls up this article.

http://www.hngn.com/articles/4948/20130610/krispy-kreme-sloppy-joe-chef-charlie-boghosian-creates-new-glazed.htm

Okay so if you just read the link above you now have the exact same information as me.

So this year we are skipping the fair, so absolutely no chance for my husband to try his new possible dream food.  Then being the amazing wife that I am, I tried to make them at home.  Here is how I did it.

Wait!!! Here is what it looked like finish.

Forgive my directions as I am not a cook, and obviously not a food blog.

Ingredients.
Roll of Grands Biscuits
Can of Manwhich
Ground Beef
Oil
Vanilla
Evaporated Milk
Powdered Sugar
Shredded Cheese

Bring oil to a boil

Take two Grands biscuits one with a hole and one without.  I used a shot glass to make the hole.  Throw the biscuits in the oil.  You know when they are done.

Ground some beef, add the Manwhich.

Glaze- In a saucepan pour a 1/2 cup of evaporated milk, a teaspoon or so of vanilla, and powdered sugar to taste.  Bring to boil.

Then take the biscuits, dip in the glaze, add the Manwhich mix, and a little shredded cheese on top.

Have a little baby aspirin ready just in case your heart starts to fail you.  Plan the rest of the day in bed, because after eating this bad boy... you will have zero energy.  FYI- Serve a salad or fruit with this... because Bacon topped cheese fries was just stupid.  If you have a enemy serve them this meal... I am not sure everyone could survive this meal.

All in all... This meal is FREAKING FANTASTIC.  A perk!! I got a huge smile from my hubs when I gave it to him.

San Diego Birth Photography - Padre for a Day

The other day my husband comes home and says that he has these tickets for Braylen and Jackson.  They were for them to go on the field and do a tour.  I didn't really know what to expect, in fact I was dreading it.  The day came and it was awesome!  Petco Stadium and it's people put so much thought into this event.  The children who were invited were all military children.

When we first arrived they took the children to the locker room.  They put children's names above the players lockers, gave them shirts, hats and badges.  Then they separated them into four groups.

They then introduced the children onto the field, showed their photo on the big screen, and took their photo with the weird mascot guy.  After the photo they gave them some cracker jacks in the dugouts.  Then the kids went to one of four stations. Pitching, Bating, Catching, and Running the Bases.

I will have to say that we did learn that Jack can hit a ball.  He was hitting better than some of the bigger kids.   Braylen got hit in face with a fly ball on the big screen.  It was hysterical.

The children then came to get some peanuts and then we did a tour of the stadium... then food.

It was an awesome day.  I would have to say one of the better days that we have had since we left Japan.  My husband said he would not be a Padre's fan, but after the event he said well... How can you not support the team after that.

Thank you Padre's for the AMAZING day!!!
